Srinagar (KNO) : The use of brutal, provocative and barbaric force by the unruly Indian forces upon the peaceful people engaged in Friday prayers resulting in serious injuries to dozens of innocent people present in Jamia Masjid Srinagar is highly condemnable and unendurable.

The way these forces personnel showered bullets and pellets upon the peaceful worshippers after entering into the interiors of Jamia Masjid seems to be a part of the hidden agenda of mass extermination of Kashmiri Muslims for which these forces have been given a free license.

These forces miss no chance to use their force indiscriminately upon the local Muslims in order to suppress their genuine voice and the Jamia Masjid Srinagar has always remained their main target. On every Friday, these forces in a large number cordon this sacred place turning it virtually into an army garrison.

This is being done in order to intimidate away the thousands of the worshippers from this historic centre which has always represented the genuine voice of the suppressed people of Kashmir. The state of Jammu and Kashmir has become a police state which is manned by such bureaucrats who have least sympathy with the local people and their only aim is to suppress them.

The presence of huge forces around the Jamia becomes a provocation for the people and when worshippers object to this unwanted presence of forces, they get a chance to use their might against the innocent and peaceful worshippers. To suppress the cause of people, the freedom loving leaders and activists are detained under frivolous and false allegations in order to cut their contact with the masses. Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani is constantly under house arrest for the years together for the same reason.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir while strongly condemning the unjustified and brutal use of force upon the worshippers by the brute Indian forces, appeals international human rights groups to take strong cognizance of this gross violation of human rights which virtually is being carried to fulfill the vicious design of genocide of Kashmiri people. Jama’at also expresses total solidarity with the injured and wishes their speedy recovery.
